Student Loan Forgiveness
Student loan forgiveness programs encourage students to pursue educational goals that will lead to employment in specific occupations. These programs forgive part or all of your educational loan debt, provided you fulfill certain work-related requirements.
Typically loan forgiveness programs apply only to student loans secured through the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP).
Please review the loan forgiveness program below to see eligibility requirements and further details.
Federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program
You may qualify for this program if you teach full-time at a low-income school or teach certain subjects, and meet other qualifications. The Federal government could forgive up to $5,000 (up to $17,500 for certain mathematics, science, and special education teachers) on outstanding federal and certain consolidation loans. Learn more.
